Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) is the airport we recommend flying into.

AUS is conveniently located near central Austin, with rental cars, Uber, Lyft and other transportation options available directly from the airport.

The shower is being held about 30 minutes north of Austin, so you’ll want to plan transportation accordingly.

RENT A CAR OR UBER?

Rent a car if:
You want to explore Austin, Georgetown and the Hill Country at your own pace. This is what we recommend if you’re turning the trip into a full weekend!

Uber if:
You’re staying somewhere central and walkable in Austin and don’t plan on venturing too far outside the city. You can Uber around Austin throughout the weekend and grab an Uber to and from the shower on Saturday.

Our recommendation: Rent a car if you can! Texas is spread out, and having your own car will give you so much more freedom to explore while you’re here.

FOR THE FULL AUSTIN EXPERIENCE

If it’s your first time in Austin and you want to be in the middle of everything, Downtown is such a fun option.

You’ll have restaurants, cocktails, live music, Lady Bird Lake and plenty to explore right outside your door. It’s also one of the easiest areas to stay if you’d rather Uber around for most of the weekend.

A great option if you want something a little more fun and boutique. It’s right on Lady Bird Lake and in such a good location for exploring the city.

If you’re more into cute local boutiques, vintage finds and one-of-a-kind pieces, spend some time exploring East 11th and the surrounding East Austin area.

It’s a little more eclectic and local than The Domain and such a fun area to wander around, shop and grab a coffee or bite to eat along the way.

LADY BIRD LAKE

Walk the trail around the lake, rent a kayak or paddleboard, or grab a coffee and take in the city from the water.

ZILKER PARK

One of Austin’s most iconic green spaces and an easy place to slow down for an afternoon and have a picnic.

MOUNT BONNELL

If you want a beautiful view without dedicating your whole day to hiking, head up to Mount Bonnell for views over the Colorado River and Austin.

BARTON SPRINGS

One of those quintessential Austin spots. Even if November isn’t swimming weather, Barton Springs and the surrounding Zilker area are still beautiful to walk around and explore.

If you have an extra day, get outside Austin and experience a little more of the Texas Hill Country.

Take the scenic route, stop somewhere for lunch, visit a winery or brewery, or book yourself a spa day.

Dripping Springs is such a fun direction to head if you want beautiful Hill Country scenery and a slower day without going too far from Austin.

GEORGETOWN

We live about 35 minutes north of Austin in Georgetown, and if you have some extra time, come experience our little corner of Texas!

Georgetown is much slower and more relaxed than Austin, with a beautiful historic Square, local restaurants, coffee shops and plenty of small-town Texas charm.
